An It Girl? What’s that all about?!
An It Girl Entrepreneur is a women who is confident, successful, well respected in her industry, a leader, expert and influencer.
And let me tell you…
To be at the top of your game in your industry you need to be an It Girl.
To make the impact you want to make you need to be an It Girl.
But some people shy away from being an It Girl because they are worried what others will say…
That they will be judged
Or compared to Kim Kardashian.
But my definition of an It Girl isn’t about being famous for the sake of being famous.
It’s about living your best life and inspiring others to do the same.
Sounds pretty good wouldn’t you agree? :)
I work with women and help them to do just this…through creating thriving coaching businesses which in turn gives them financial freedom and independence.
I’ll share with you more on this in just a moment…
But first let me tell you a story…
I likely started not too far from where you are now. I was working full-time at my day job, getting paid decently – but nowhere near the level I wanted. And certainly not with the freedom and impact I was craving.
I had dabbled in business before, I had a online health food store and my blog was getting decent traffic and I even made some commissions from affiliate sales, but nothing to write home about – and certainly nowhere near enough to leave my day job.
In fact, I was almost ready to give up when I noticed something.
A ton of my readers were asking me how I’d grown such a large blog audience in a relatively short amount of time.
Up until that point, I had basically ignored the question. After all, I was running a health blog. I wasn’t an online marketer.
But people kept asking. And asking.
Until I thought, “fine, I’ll teach you what I know.”
So I released my first coaching package for bloggers at $497 – it was a 3 session package with sessions every second week.
I thought for sure it wouldn’t work.
That everyone would think “Who is she to teach people about blogging!”
After all, I hadn’t sold any of my own products before. Let alone for so much money!
I was working full-time in business development for a HR company. Sure I had been blogging daily for 18 months and built up a following but I kept on thinking why would someone want to learn from me? Was I good enough to do this? Did I really have what it takes?
(That sneaky fear and self doubt has away of appearing!)
But they DID.
In fact, within 6 weeks my coaching package was sold out. I made $3k in my first month and $4k in my second and had waitlist of people who were paying in advance to work with me!
So I work with these clients 1:1, had a great time, and was thrilled to see my very first students get results!
But then doubt crept in…”What if it was luck the first time? Maybe I don’t really have what it takes.”
I wasn’t sure! But I had to find out, so I decided to launch another 1-on-1 coaching program.
You’d think that I would be more confident this time – as I had sold out the first program. But actually, I was even more nervous!
Because the first time I had a bunch of people who followed my health blog asking me to teach them and offering to pay.
But they already bought my program.
This time, I was starting from scratch. No audience, no email list, no eagerly waiting buyers.
I was terrified that I would launch this program and nobody would buy it, proving that I should just forget about my dreams and be satisfied with my day job.
So when I ended up selling packages for $1000 per month for either a 3 or 6 month commitment, at first I felt more relief than joy.
But it wasn’t long before it hit me: the system worked!
That’s when I realized that I would be able to quit my day job – without any uncertainty or risk about how I was going to live.
I had proven to myself that I could bring in more money when I needed to.
Here’s why this is important: After I figured this stuff out, I wanted to see if other people could use the same process to launch their own coaching, consulting or solo professional businesses and leave their day jobs.
Take Tracy for example. Tracey is completing her PHD in women entrepreneurship and is a video blogger. She was a skilled at creating videos but but had no idea how to make money from her skills and area of expertise! A few months later she is celebrating her first $13k month and has a sold out group program!
Holly the Career Coach is another example.
Holly started her business while working full-time and was able to scale down to part-time hours after she started building momentum.
