Coach of the Week – Lauren Vanessa Zink

Learn how successful coaches started out and learn from their success!Lauren

Name:  Lauren Vanessa Zink           Location: Corvallis, Oregon, USA

Q.  Why did you become a coach?
A.  Great question! I became a coach because I knew I wasn’t destined to work for somebody else. There was a part of me calling out, begging to add something great to the world, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to honour that voice in a more traditional corporate job. Now I coach entrepreneurs on how to write confidently, and I feel like I’m contributing in a much more consistent and happier way.

Q.  Aside from coaching what do you love doing?
A.  I’m a secret singer. I nerd out over things like acapella music and cover bands. If I wasn’t a copy coach, I’d almost certainly be a rockstar.   ;)

Q.  What was the scariest thing about starting your business?
A. Leaving behind the “comfortable” stuff like your normal job or steady paycheck or (gasp) your reputation. My dear friend and client Dayna House refers to it as “a security blanket of razor blades.” When you’re meant to work for yourself, you know it. You can feel it in your body. And every time you ignore that calling, it’s just as scary and uncomfortable as making the leap. For a lot of us, even more so!

Q.  What would you tell someone who is just starting out as a coach?

A.  You are SO much braver than you know. I promise.

Q.  What is the best thing about your business?
A.  I absolutely LOVE to see my copy clients break through to new confidence levels!! When I show them how to conquer their fears and push the “publish” button on that risky blog or go after that big prospect (and land them!) or pitch a major news outlet, I am amazed by what they accomplish—and so are they! One win leads to another one, and before they know it, they’re miles away from where they started. In fact, one of my Aussie clients got so pumped up after our time together, she went out and bought a beach house!! She said she never would have done that if I hadn’t inspired her to. Amazing.

Q.  What exciting plans are you working on at the moment?

A.  Oooooh, I’m so excited about it I almost don’t want to give it away…It’s an invite-only, 1:1 copy courage mentorship program. It’s perfect for female entrepreneurs who want their voice to shine brighter in their website copy, blogs and social media. If you want to apply, you can schedule a 20-minute chat with me here.
